New Delhi: India and Pakistan agreed on Wednesday to start a second bus route and a truck service across LoC. The agreement followed two days of talks in New Delhi.

The bus service will begin in June and the truck route should open in July, both sides said in a joint statement.

India and Pakistan also exchanged lists of goods to be shipped in the trucks, and business leaders were to meet soon to work out final details, the statement said.

The bus service will start on June 19 and link the two sides' towns of Punch and Rawalakot, making it easier for families living on both sides of the LoC.

The bus and truck links are among measures meant to increase business ties and cross-border travel between India and Pakistan, after they began a sweeping peace dialogue in January 2004.

Business delegations from the ''Chambers of Commerce from either side of the LOC will undertake visits at the earliest to discuss various aspects of the trade'' between Kashmir's Indian- and Pakistani-controlled sectors, the statement said.

Last year the two sides opened the first bus service linking Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, the main cities on the two sides of Kashmir. The truck service agreed to on Wednesday would link the two cities.
