TIRUR: A police team led by Tirur DySP K Salim has busted a sex racket and arrested six persons including two women. The gang had abducted a 23-year-old woman from Kolathoor in December last year who was sexually assaulted by several persons from in and outside the state. She was in the custody of the gang for two weeks. A police officer in Ooty is also an accused in the case.Chavakkad native Charil Aneesh Mohamed, 43, wife Karulayi native Jamsheena, 24, Jameela, 36, of Sulthan Bathery, Chalikath Abdul Shukoor, 40, of Edappal, Abdul Jabbar, 27, of Kacherippadi, and Kondotty native Kambakodan Beerankutty, 37, are the persons arrested by the police.Jameela trapped the lady, who had been working as a home nurse in Tirur, on thepretext that she would help her secure a job in another establishment with a decent salary. The lady was taken to their car on December 30, 2011.Aneesh Mohamed and Jamsheena were also in the car. Later, she was abused by many persons in various places like Gudalur, Ootty, Kondotty, Manjeri, Vengara etc. Beerankutty was the first person who abused her. The woman got pregnant and they aborted the fetus. She managed to escape when she was staying in Ootty on January 15 and lodged a complaint with District Police Chief K Sethuraman who directed the Tirur DySP to investigate the case. They nabbed the accused from different places. The police had decoyed some of the members of the racket informing them that they had girls to sell. According to the police, the racket has links with more than 50 other sex rackets in and outside the state. “There are some more accused in the case. The investigation is going on,” the DySP said.Aneesh Mohamed was an accused in the rape case of a minor Bengali girl at Kalpakanchery in 2008. There are also cases against him filed in various police stations in Malappuram.
