THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ending all speculations, K S Vasudeva Sharma has been appointed as the political secretary to the Chief Minister. This will be his second stint as the political secretary. In 2004, when Oommen Chandy was the Chief Minister, Vasudeva Sharma was the political secretary.The political secretary post in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) became a most sought after post with a number of prominent Congress leaders eyeing for it.Initial reports said that M Murali, a threetime MLA, who lost the recent Assembly elections, was one among the aspirants for the post.A prominent 'A' group leader Thampanoor Ravi, another threetime MLA, but who was defeated in the recent elections, entered the race for the post later.But the KPCC proposed the name of G Balachandran who was defeated in the last Lok Sabha elections, for the post.With more and more names people clamouring for the post, sources said that Oommen Chandy finally decided to go with his trusted lieutenant Vasudeva Sharma ending all speculations.
