The state government has turned transfer of its
employees into a ‘money spinning business’ said, Leader of Opposition in the
state Assembly Siddaramaiah here on Wednesday.Speaking to reporters, the Congress leader criticized the
decision of the state government to transfer government employees.“It is a multicrore transfer scam. The state government
should focus on drought relief works rather than transferring employees,” said
Siddaramaiah.On his visit to New Delhi on Wednesday, Siddaramaiah said
that it is regarding the review of the party’s poll preparedness in Karnataka.He, however, predicted early elections to the Assembly.
Siddaramaiah said that the Congress was ready to face the polls and would come
back to power in the state.He said that a meeting of the senior party leaders from the
state including, MPs, ministers, AICC functionaries has been convened by the
party’s high command on Wednesday to discuss the poll strategies.On Union Labour Minister and senior leader Mallikarjuna
Kharge’s comment that the Congress had lost the 2008 Assembly elections because
of lack of unity in the party, Siddaramaiah said, “Our only focus now is to win
the upcoming Assembly elections. It is not the time to hold introspection on
the party’s defeat.”The Congress leader demanded the state government to change
the cut off date to benefit more farmers from the `25,000 crop loan waive
scheme from April 1, 2011 instead of August 2011. Siddaramaiah said that the
state government is yet to pass an order to effect the announcement made in the
last session of Assembly.
