KALADY: A civilised society could be created only through proper education, Kerala High Court Chief Justice Jasti Chelameswar said here on Sunday. He was inaugurating the platinum jubilee celebrations of Brahmanandodayam Higher Secondary School. Agamananda Swamikal, the founder of Brahmananodayam HSS, was a spiritual leader who influenced generations, Justice added. Year-long celebrations are planned to mark the platinum jubilee of the school. The school is run by Sree Ramakrishna Ashram, Kalady. It is named after Acharya Brahmanda Swamy, the first president of Sree Ramakrishna Ashram, which was founded by Swami Vivekananda. The school was elevated as a High School in 1941. The ashram launched English Medium High School in 1947. The Higher Secondary School started in 2000.Socialist Janata (Democratic) state president M P Veerendra Kumar presided over the inaugural session. Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan delivered the keynote address. K P Dhanapalan MP, panchayat president K B Sabu, principal Jayakrishnan and K Krishnan Namboodiri spoke on the occasion.
