BANGALORE: There is some respite for the Bellary-based Reddy brothers with the ruling BJP deciding that G Somashekara Reddy, the youngest of the three, should continue as the chairman of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). In a meeting held on Sunday evening, it was decided that Somashekara Reddy will continued as KMF chief, “Discretion is the better part of valour.” It was almost decided that Somashekara Reddy would be stripped off the post, which he got on account of pressure mounted by his two elder brothers, Janardhana and Karunakara. “We could have issued marching orders to Somashekara Reddy, with Janardhana Reddy cooling heels in Chanchalguda central jail on illegal mining issue and Karunakara Reddy also feeling the heat by the CBI. But we decided to retain him as his removal would tantamount to rubbing salt on the wounds of Reddy brothers,” a top BJP leader told Express. All the three brothers and sister are members of one or the other houses of the legislature and parliament. While Karunakara and Somashekara are MLAs, Janardhana is MLC and his sister, Joladarashi Shantha is a member of the Lok Sabha.
