New Delhi: BJP and Samajwadi Party on Friday targeted Congress and its President Sonia Gandhi in the wake of Pathak Inquiry Authority exonerating the Congress and indicting Natwar Singh in the Iraqi's oil-for food scam.
"What is good for Peter is equally good for Paul. If Natwar Singh is indicted then how can the Congress party be given a clean chit", was the Opposition refrain.
"What crime has poor Natwar Singh committed? Has he drunk all the oil?" queried an agitated Amar Singh, General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party.
For his part, Natwar Singh said he and Congress were inseperable but chose not to answer a question about the possibility of his joining the Samajwadi Party.
Reporters asked Amar Singh whether Natwar Singh was welcome in his party, the SP leader remarked that "even Sonia Gandhi is welcome."
