Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) is ahead of other zones in implementation of Hindi, SCR general manager GN Asthana has said.
Participating in the 134th Zonal Official Language Implementation Committee (ZOLIC) Meeting at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Monday, he said use of Hindi could be spread through cultural activities in Divisions and Workshops. He said the official website of SCR should be in English and Hindi.
Mahesh Chandra, Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari and Controller of Stores, SCR, said two SCR officers had received the Railway Ministry Rajbasha Award at the national level. Syed Hameed Ali, Member, Railway Hindi Consultative Committee, suggested steps to increase use of Hindi. Earlier, Mangala Abhyankar, deputy general manager (Rajbasha) welcomed the gathering.
The meeting deliberated upon issues concerning implementation of the Official Language (Hindi) in the zone. R Vijaya Mohan, additional general manager, SCR was among those present.
