State to get more power
State to get more power

The state is expected to get some relief from the acute power shortage as the central government has decided to allocate 350 MW of power from the central generation stations, including NTPC, to the state.

Out of the 350 MW, the state would get 150 MW immediately, Union power minister M Veerappa Moily said in Delhi on Saturday.

The announcement came a day after chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had met Moily in Delhi and requested him to allocate at least 500 MW of power from the central generation stations to the state.

Moily assured Reddy that the central power plants in the state, including the NTPC’s at Ramagundam, would get more coal supplies and would become fully operational.
