BANGALORE: Adding to recurring reports of dog bite cases in the city, a two-and-half-year old girl was bitten by stray dogs near a construction site in Uttarahalli.
After suffering injuries on her head and thigh, Kajal was discharged from the hospital on Saturday afternoon. She was attacked near a construction site, where her parents work as labourers. After the attack, she was rushed to Kings Hospital for treatment. Later, she was admitted at Nagarathna Clinic in Uttarahalli. She was discharged on Saturday afternoon and taken to her house. Uttarahalli Corporator K Ramesh Raju said that the BBMP and the local MLA bore the expenses for her treatment. He also said that he would ask for a compensation of `25,000 for the family from Palike.When asked about the stray dog situation in Uttarahalli, he said that the BBMP is helpless due to handicapped policies.

"We can only capture dogs for vaccination and sterilisation. We cannot eliminate dogs as per the current rules", Raju said.
