Strong gales disrupt life in Vizag

VISAKHAPATNAM: Few trees were uprooted and a couple of electric poles fell down in various places when strong gales accompanied by drizzle hit hard the city and the district in early hours of Friday.The Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC), Visakhapatnam attributed the strong winds to the steep rise in temperature this summer and said it is a common phenomenon in summer.In Vizag city, normal life was affected in the morning hours due to strong gales causing severe damage to hoardings and electric cables at many areas. The Met officials have predicted more gales in the port city.
