With less than a week left in the much-awaited consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the entire country is nowadays ‘Rammay’. Preparations are underway in full swing for the ‘Pran-Pratishta’ of Ram Lalla set to take place on January 22.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics in Palasamudram, Andhra Pradesh, PM Modi talked about incorporating Lord Ram’s teaching of “good governance” into the institution.
“My 11-day fasting ritual is going on ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. In such an auspicious period, I am blessed to be here and blessed by God. Lord Ram is an example of good governance in social life and he can be an inspiration for your institution,” he said.
On January 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began observing all rituals and ‘niyams’ of an 11-day ‘Anushthan’ (ritual) ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.
“Only 11 days are left for the consecration of Ramlala in Ayodhya. I am fortunate that I will also be a witness to this auspicious occasion. The Lord has made me an instrument to represent all the people of India during the consecration. Keeping this in mind, I am starting a special ritual of 11 days from today. I am seeking blessings from all the people. At this moment, it is very difficult to express my feelings in words, but I have tried from my side…” the prime minister wrote in an X post.
Earlier in the week, in a special audio message, PM Modi said he would represent all Indians in Ayodhya and was fortunate to be a part of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ which was the result of a 500-year-long patient struggle. “All 140 crore Indians will be with me in the Garbha Griha. All Ram Bhakts will be with me,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister is set to preside over the consecration ceremony on January 22 and address all the attendees from the ‘Singh Dwar’ of the grand temple complex.
