Coimbatore: At least 100 sovereigns of gold ornaments were looted from a jewellery shop at Sowripalayam area in the city on Saturday, police said.

Neighbours noticed the gaping hole this morning and immediately informed police, who rushed to the spot along with fingerprint experts, they said. The exact value of the stolen jewellery was being ascertained, they said.
