CHENNAI: The body of a 25yearold software engineer, who allegedly committed suicide by suffocating himself with a plastic bag, was recovered by the suburban police in Selaiyur on Thursday.
According to the police, Rohit Sharma of Jharkhand, working with a wellknown IT major at Sholinganallur, was found dead in his apartment at Rajeshwari Nagar in Selaiyur with a polythene bag tied over his head with a piece of cloth.Rohit came to Chennai last year. On June 6, he had also sent money to his family.

His roommates, were not at home for a few days when the incident took place. When family from Gujarat tried contacting Rohit, his mobile phone was switched off.

When police broke open the door, they foundRohit's body. "We suspect he could have died on the night of June 6. The apartment also had an entry register that needed to be signed by the occupants. The man had last signed the register two days ago," said a police official.
