Monica Angane from Wada had her wedding fixed for July 2, but she didn’t know that she would tying the knot with all grandeur at Reliance Corporate Park along with more than 50 other couples.

“Never imagined I would be having such a nice wedding. I am thankful to Nita ma’am and Ambani family for this. We had our wedding fixed for today’s day, but then we were made to be a part of this mass wedding, and it turned out to be so well organised,” said Monica, as she held a tray containing gold ornaments, including Mangalsutra, wedding rings, and nose rings and silver ornaments, such as toe rings and anklets.

Like the Angane couple, more than 50 other couples from Wada in Palghar got married on Tuesday at the Samuhik Vivah organised as a part of pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

The couples and their guests were welcomed with the traditional Tarpa Dance performed by the Warli Tribe.

To grace the occasion and bless the couples, the entire Ambani family, including Mukesh and Nita Ambani, Akash and Shloka Ambani and Isha and Anand Piramal, was present. The mass wedding was also attended by nearly 800 people representing families of the couples who got married.

“I am delighted to see all these couples get married here. I am a mother and a mother is always happy to see her children get wedded off. Radhika and Anant’s wedding functions begin from today and I feel fortunate that I was able to make it here. I wish that the lives of these couples are filled with happiness,” said Nita Ambani, chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation.

The family also presented each bride with a cheque of Rs 1.01 lakh as ‘streedhan’, apart from gifting them with grocery and household items, including 36 essential items and utensils, appliances such as gas stove, mixer, fan, mattress and pillows, etc.
