KOCHI: Rudrakshas, since time immemorial, have been known for their healing properties and divine powers. No wonder it is one of the most popular accessory that people adorn around their necks or hands. To showcase different varieties of rudrakshas beads and acquaint people with their numerous properties, a five-day exhibition, starting today has been organised by Rudralife, a Mumbai based rudraksha company at Hotel Abad Plaza.Besides the customary 1 to 21 mukhi rudrakshas, there is a rare piece called ‘Indra mala’ worth a whopping one crore rupees. The mala consists of all the mukhis along with ‘gaurishankar rudraksha’, ‘savar’, ‘trijuti’ and ‘ganesha rudraksha’. The mala promises prosperity and domestic happiness, according to the makers. ‘Siddha mala’ which is a combination of 1 to 14 rudrakshas along with ‘gaurishankar’ and ‘ganesh rudraksha’ strung together is another rare piece which costs Rs 75,000. A single ‘ekmukhi’ bead costs Rs 3 which is the starting price. Apart from the usual rudrakshas, there are some special ones on display as well. ‘Ganesh rudraksha’, a type which bears a trunk like elevation claims to bring perfection in every sphere of life to the wearer. ‘Gauri shankar rudraksha’, two naturally joined rudrakshas which symbolise Shiva and Parvati is said to be useful in relationships. ‘Saraswati bandh’ designed for students is meant for intelligence and better focus. ‘Swasthya bandh’ is for proper blood circulation and to provide relief from stress and anxiety.Kamal Narayan Seetha, the proprietor of Rudralife says, “Mankind is destined to have eternal sorrows. Rudraksha has the mystical power to redress these. In recent times, scientific research have found that rudraksha beads have electromagnetic properties and they impact the human body when worn. It is a natural healing bead, known for success, self-confidence,stress and anxiety control, spirituality, marital bliss and material gains. Though different rudrakshas have different qualities and affects, wearing a wrong one does not bring about any negativity, since it is a natural product.”Kamal Narayanan informs that Rudralife is coming up with a unique Museum of Rudrakshas at Tryambakeshwar in Nashik, the first one of its kind. That would certainly be novel.
