The woman in her complaint to police has alleged that the two constables - Amrendra Pratap Yadav and Anuj Singh - entered house in an inebriated state and tried to molest her.
However, the woman's family member and her neighbours rushed to the spot on hearing her screams and caught hold of the duo.
Taking note of the incident, Superintendent of Police Ram Bahadur Yadav has sent SHO Rampur Surendra Pratap Singh and the two accused constables to police lines.
The SP said a departmental inquiry has also been initiated into the incident.
