CHENNAI: The logjam between the Film Employees’ Federation of South India (FEFSI) and the Tamil Film Producers’ Council over the revision of wages for film employees took a new turn on Friday, with the council announcing that no launches could be done till May. Council’s vice president, T G Thyagarajan, said that after this period, the council’s own association of film workers would be up-and-running. Further, the council also announced that from May only members of the new association should be employed for film shooting. However, these announcements would be enforced only after the producers seek the guidance of ace filmmaker K Balachander, in solving the impasse.
