TN: Man crushed to death between platform and train

Salem: In a heart-rending incident, a 40-year-old man was on Saturday crushed to death in front of his two sons, when he fell in the space between the platform and a train at the station Salem, police said.

The man, Nalliappan, a native of Salem working as a labourer in Mumbai, was rushing to the unreserved compartment of the incoming Chennai-Mumbai Kurla Express to catch seats for his family when he slipped and fell, police said.

The body was torn to pieces, police said. His two sons are aged 14 and nine, sources said, adding, his wife is in Mumbai.
