TIRUPUR: The District Crime Branch (DCB) police arrested the owner of a private tourism company in Chennai on charges of duping the postal department staff in Tirupur of Rs 8.64 lakh after promising to arrange a tour to Andamans. As many as 22 employees of the Head Post Office in Tirupur planned a visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands along with their family. When they got to know about the attractive tourist plans offered by Das alias Kalidas (39) running the A&N Tourism Corporation in Chennai, they paid him `8.64 lakh for arranging a week’s tour. A few days ago, Das handed over 71 flight tickets of a private airlines to them. But when the postal department staff checked with air lines regarding their departure, they shocked to find that all the tickets were fake.
