Lucknow: In line with his poll promise of fixing Uttar Pradesh’s law and order situation, newly-elected Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday conducted a surprise check at a police station in Lucknow to review general preparedness levels.
Chaotic scenes were witnessed at the police station in Hazratganj, a major shopping area in the heart of Lucknow.
Law and order was a major issue during the just concluded state elections. BJP, in its poll document, had promised to fix it.
Adityanath apparently inspected every room of the station, even the locker.
This unprecedented visit comes a day after Adityanath assumed the state home portfolio.
This comes after Adityanath imposed a ban plastic polythene bags, gutka and paan masala (in government offices) along with closing a few slaughter houses in the state. The state is also in the process of formed ‘anti-Romeo’ squads to crackdown on harassment and eve-teasing of women in the state.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister & PWD Minister of UP, Keshav Prasad Maurya, administered an oath of cleanliness & punctuality to PWD officials in the state.
