CHENNAI: Actor Vanitha Vijayakumar (31) and her second husband Rajan Anand (41) have moved the Principal Family Court in the city seeking divorce on mutual consent, on Wednesday. In their common petition filed under Sec 28 of the Special Marriage Act, they stated that they got married on December 12, 2007 before the sub-registrar office in Vallabh Nagar in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh. It was a love marriage. A female baby was born to them on May 25, 2009.They said that from the date of their marriage, they had not been able to live happily due to differences in temperament and attitude. The incompatibility between them had finally made them separate on August 1, 2010 and they had been living separately since then. Their marriage had irretrievably broken down and they had mutually agreed to have the same dissolved. They also stated that they had no claim against each other and would not claim any property from either. They also would not claim any alimony or maintenance. Their daughter would remain with Vanitha with visiting right to Anand. Both would be entitled to remarry under law, the plea added. It would be interesting to note that Vanitha had approached the City Police Commissioner seeking custody of her minor son Vijay Sri Hari from her first husband Akash, in November last year. She later moved the Madras High Court with the same prayer. On all those occasions, her second husband Rajan Anand accompanied her. However, her son Sri Hari was adamant and refused to go with her inspite of the court ordering the same. Finally, the High Court had ordered that Akash could have the custody of the son for five days every week from Monday to Friday (school working days). Vanitha could take him on every Friday and return him to Akash on Monday morning. Despite all this, Sri Hari chose to remain with his biological father Akash.
