Vidya's revenge on Malayalam, Tamil filmmakers
Vidya's revenge on Malayalam, Tamil filmmakers
She had an unsavoury tryst with Malayalam and Tamil industry veterans. She is getting back at them now.

New Delhi: By now there is very little about Vidya Balan that one does not know. For instance we all know that she made her debut in 2003 in a Bengali film called Bhalo Theko two years before she arrived with a bang in Bollywood in Parineeta.

We also know that it took six months of screen tests before producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra was convinced that she would be able to pull off the part of Lolita and romance two men in Pradeep Sarkar's movie.

We also know that she will soon be performing a special song and dance number in Chopra's production, Ferrari Ki Sawari.

But what not many people may know is that she had an unsavoury tryst with Malayalam and Tamil films. The first film she signed — with Mohanlal — never got completed. Neither of her first two Malayalam films got completed, she walked out of a Tamil film and was replaced in another.

So one can only imagine the sense of victory and exoneration she must have felt when one of the directors who rejected her then approached her recently, expressing the desire to work her now. Her reply: "Get in touch with my manager and we will see."

What's your reaction?
