BERHAMPUR: Tension prevailed at Guhariapata village under Khallikote police limits following a clash between the police and villagers. During a joint raid here on Friday, the police and Excise officials destroyed a number of units and seized liquor preparing materials. The police also arrested three persons, including two woman.The villagers reportedly attacked the team while they were returning. They blocked the road with boulders and pelted stones at them, said Chhatrapur SDPO Shantanu Padhy.A police jeep was damaged and four cops injured, he added. The villagers, however, alleged that the police ransacked several houses and even set some afire. Describing the police action as unwarranted, they demanded an impartial inquiry into the incident.
