VELLORE/ THIRUVANNAMALAI: Gold jewellery and cash totally estimated at around Rs 8 lakh was stolen from the house of the Walajah magistrate.On returning home after visiting a sick relative in Kancheepuram on Sunday, magistrate Girijarani found the back door of her house broken open. 46 sovereigns of gold and Rs 30,000 cash was missing. Ranipet police are investigating.19-year-old Boy Found Dead A 19-year-old boy was found dead at a well near Arcot on Monday morning.Vijayaraghavan (19) was found missing since Saturday. Meanwhile, his body was found floating at a well near Krishnavaram. Arcot town police sent the body for postmortem. The lorry was transporting bricks from Kannamangalam to Vellore when the driver Krishnamoorthy lost control of the vehicle. The lorry fell into a 60-foot trench near Reddypalayam. While Krishnamoorthy escaped without injuries, the cleaner, Prakash, was injured and admitted to the Vellore GH. Kannamangalam police registered a case in this connection.
