New Delhi: Following a partial US government shutdown on October 1, a bunch of US government websites and Twitter feeds have been suspended including that of NASA and USGS. The White House web page is also not being updated due to the federal government shutdown.

The USGS website clearly states, "Due to the Federal government shutdown, usgs.gov and most associated web sites are unavailable." NASA's website can also not be accessed. When you try to access the NASA website, it redirects to a webpage, which says, "Due to the lapse in federal government funding, this website is not available. We sincerely regret this inconvenience." The US Department of Homeland Security has also stopped responding to public emails.

For the first time in nearly two decades, the US federal government staggered into a partial shutdown on Monday at midnight after congressional Republicans stubbornly demanded changes in the nation's health care law as the price for essential federal funding and President Barack Obama and Democrats adamantly refused.
