The problem cannot be solved by a software update as it’s “strictly a hardware related issue.”

If you are looking forward to upgrade your Nexus 5X smartphone to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system then think again. Some Nexus 5X users are complaining that after installing the new Android 7.0 OTA update, the device is automatically getting into a constant reboot loop.

The good news is that the number of users affected by this issue is small.

Google has acknowledged the issue and is “continuing to investigate” it. However, the problem cannot be solved by a software update as it’s “strictly a hardware related issue.”

“We understand that a very small number of users are experiencing a bootloop issue on the Nexus 5X. We are continuing to investigate the situation, but can confirm that this is strictly a hardware related issue. For those of you that are currently experiencing this, please contact your place of purchase for warranty or repair options. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your continued patience,” said a Google employee in a report by 9to5Google.

The Nexus 5X, made by LG, was launched last year in September and offered Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

Meanwhile, Google is hosting an event on October 5 to introduce new smartphones powered by its latest Android Nougat operating system. Dubbed as Pixel smartphones, Google will reportedly launch two handsets- Pixel and Pixel XL.
