New Delhi: The body of the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Model Town was found in a smashed car in Rohini in north-west Delhi on Thursday morning, police said.
Forty-four year old Meera Kharbanda was found dead at 0715 hrs in Rohini Sector 15 in her Hyundai Accent car, whose windowscreen and bumper were broken.
A bottle of liquor was also found in the car beside her body.
Meera is a divorcee and a resident of Paschim Vihar.
Police are still ascertaining whether it is a case of suicide or accident and have sent the body for a post-mortem.
Meera talked to her family members on the phone on Wednesday night and told them she was in a disturbed state of mind, police said.
"She had told her family and friends that she was upset. She had made a last call around 2230 hrs IST on Wednesday and had a missed call around 0000 hrs IST. Her mobile phone and money was found intact in the car," says DCP West Delhi, Atul Katiyar.
