Police say she had objected food being stored in the Ayurvedic clinic.
Bangalore: A woman doctor and her assistant were allegedly assaulted by a mob in Bangalore Rural district after a group of villagers entered an Ayurvedic health centre where the doctor was practising. The incident took place on July 7.
The two women were assaulted after the villagers were reportedly angry when the doctor raised the issue of poor food being served in the nearby anganwadi. Police say she had objected food being stored in the Ayurvedic clinic.
The mob entered the clinic, threatened and assaulted the two women. 17 people have been booked in this connection.
The FIR was filed under section 354 of IPC (outraging the modesty of a woman). The police have arrested five people including a woman.
