BANGALORE: A 26yearold woman killed her two children before she ended her life by hanging at her residence in Parangipalya 26th Main in HSR Layout police station limits on Friday morning.The deceased have been identified as Shilpa, her four-year-old son Pavan and 11month-old baby girl. Shilpa was married to Lokesh, who works with a private packaging company, for five years. The couple hailed from Kanakapur taluk of Ramnagar district.According to the police, after Lokesh left for work on Friday morning, Shilpa first strangled the baby girl to death in the cradle and then she hanged Pavan with a rope from the ceiling fan and later she hanged herself with the same rope. The incident came to light, when one her relatives came home in the afternoon. He noticed that the three were dead and informed the police."The door was locked from inside and any foul play behind the incident have been ruled out. Shilpa was suffering from giddiness and other health problems from a few months. It is suspected that this might have forced her to take the extreme step," the police added.Shilpa's brother-in-law, Raju, said that their families stayed together. "Shilpa used to send my children to school. Even on Friday, she had sent them to the school. Even my brother Lokesh had spoken to her at 9 am over the phone and all had gone out on work when the incident took place. We are clueless about why she did this," he lamented.The police have questioned Lokesh in connection with the incident. The bodies were sent to Victoria Hospital mortuary for post mortem. HSR Layout police have registered a case of unnatural deaths and further investigations are on.Gold chains worth Rs 2 lakh snatchedIn two separate incidents, miscreants snatched gold chains worth over Rs 2 lakh.In Basweshwaranagar police station limits a man in disguise of a customer, snatched a shop owner's chain worth Rs 40,000. The victim Puttarame Gowda, was at his provision shop, when the miscreant entered the shop.He asked for pan and snatched his gold chain before fleeing the scene.In another incident in Jnanabharathi police station limits, a miscreant snatched three gold chains worth Rs 1.85 lakh from a woman. The victim Kanagavalli, a resident of Nagarabavi, was returning home in the night, when a man approached her from behind and suddenly snatched her gold chains.
