Woman steals in-laws jewels, held

VELLORE: A woman was arrested for stealing 35 sovereigns of gold jewellery from her in-laws’ house near Ambur on Sunday.Ramammal of Pichanatham village near Veppankuppam stays with her son Mukhil and his wife Sushila. Ramammal’s daughters, Vatchala and Tharani, also married and living with their in-laws, had given their gold jewellery to her for custody. She had gone out on Saturday and returned on Sunday to see the bureau opened and 35 sovereigns of gold jewellery missing.Veppankuppam police conducted inquiries and traced Sushila (20)and arrested her. One more person, Vijayaganesh, who was also suspected to be involved, is absconding.
