BELGAUM:  Wrestlers and judo players tested their fighting abilities against each other at the Government Sports School in Belgaum on Thursday evening, resulting in injuries to 14 students.
The unofficial "bout", according to sources, was over the use of toilets in the school. The judokas alleged that though the wrestlers were provided separate toilets, they were occupying the judo players' toilets for hours, causing them a lot of inconvenience. The judo players alleged that though they had complained to their warden, no action had been taken.

The wrestlers' frequent and long visits to the toilets apparently was due to a ban on mobile phones in the school. The judo players alleged that the wrestlers lock themselves in the toilets and talk on the mobiles to avoid getting caught. And with a dearth of toilets, the judo players say they have been having a tough time.

After being informed about the incident, zilla panchayat president Irappa Kadadi visited the hostel to make inquires.

The Market police have registered cases against 10 students.
