Election road shows invariably leave behind a mess on the roads, in the form of thrown-away banners, flags and flowers. But it is not so in the case of roadshows held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has adopted the pledge of cleanliness even when it comes to poll campaigns.
When the Prime Minister’s roadshow ended in Bikaner on Monday evening, the route he had taken was cleaned within a few hours by BJP workers as directed by the PM. The same was the case when the PM had done a roadshow in Indore last week. Similar instructions have been issued to BJP workers in Jaipur for the PM’s roadshow in the state capital on Tuesday.
“This endeavour is especially close to his heart. He believes in leading all the causes he stands for by way of personal example and through deeds, not merely words,” a party leader told News18.
After leading the huge roadshow in Bikaner, Rajasthan on Monday, the PM had issued directions to ensure that a rapid cleanliness drive be done along the roadshow’s route. “BJP workers immediately sprung into action, resulting in the entire route being cleaned at night itself,” the BJP leader said.
This is not a one-off instance. PM has always insisted that roadshow routes and rally venues be cleaned by the BJP team immediately after the programme ends. Recently, this was seen in Indore where the route of the roadshow was cleaned within a few hours, BJP leaders told News18.
Similar scenes are expected in Jaipur on Tuesday evening after the PM holds a 4.5-km-long road show in the state capital. The roadshow will start at 6pm from Sanganeri Gate and the famous Hanuman Temple. This area is in Old Jaipur. The roadshow will cross two big markets of Tripolia Bazaar, Johri Bazaar and Badi Chaupar near Hawa Mahal. The route will see welcome stages made and witness local performances.
