LE SSERAFIM Faces Allegations Of Plagiarism Again, Netizens Think They Copied Track EASY
LE SSERAFIM is now linked to another possible case of copying. This time, the song in question is Cliche by artist Velous.

LE SSERAFIM, a K-pop girl group that quickly rose to fame, is once again facing allegations of plagiarism. Their latest song, EASY, has come under scrutiny as listeners noticed its striking resemblance to another track released in 2017. This isn’t the first time this group has been accused of copying other artists. Before this, their song Smart was also under fire as listeners thought it sounded very similar to artist Tyla’s song titled Water. These allegations have sparked discussions among K-pop enthusiasts worldwide. The group has already been struggling with live performances, especially during music shows and major events like Coachella, reports Koreaboo.

Amid these issues, LE SSERAFIM is now linked to another possible case of copying. This time, the song in question is Cliche by artist Velous. It was released in 2017. The official lyrics video for Cliche has gathered around 200,000 views. Hence the similarities between it and EASY have not gone unnoticed.

Netizens have been particularly vocal about these allegations. The comments section of Velous’s song Cliche is filled with viewers pointing out the similarities between the two songs. They have noticed it pretty clearly around the 0:17 mark. These observations have also spread across various online platforms. As a result, this has led to heated discussions about the originality of LE SSERAFIM’s music.

On YouTube, some users are adamant that the similarities are too significant to be mere coincidence. Meanwhile, others believe that such resemblances can occur in the creative process without intent. Regardless of where one stands on the issue, it is clear that LE SSERAFIM’s reputation is being tested.

“Daym le sserafim copied this," reads a comment. “If Le Sserafim & HYBE get sued, they will definitely lose," reads another one. “I looked at the cliché credits and it was written by Tyler Bryant, that name is not in Easy’s credits, so Lesserafim actually plagiarized and didn’t even give the credits," said a viewer while another one jokingly remarked, “So that’s why they called the song EASY."

While the music industry is not any stranger to such controversies, however for LE SSERAFIM, the frequency of these accusations is particularly damaging. The group’s management and production crew at the moment are under intense scrutiny, with many fans calling for thorough research and extra transparency in their creative process.
