MAMAMOO’s Hwasa is one of the popular names in the South Korean entertainment industry. The singer, who ventured as a solo artist in 2019, recently announced her comeback with an intriguing video that her agency, P Nation, shared on their X (formerly Twitter) account.
On September 9, the entertainment agency took to their account and dropped a teaser showing the K-pop idol wearing a white bodycon while holding a newspaper. At the beginning of the clip, the newspaper that Hwasa was reading featured “Hey Guess What” written on it in bold letters. As she flipped the newspaper, it revealed that the singer would be making her comeback on September 19. Check out the teaser below:

On Saturday, P Nation also announced the name of Hwasa’s upcoming mini album. They unveiled another teaser in which the singer is dressed in a brown outfit and is seen shaking her legs to a song at a train station. Sharing the video on their X account, they wrote, “The wait is over. The 2nd Mini Album [O], 2024.09.19 (Thu) 6 PM KST.”

According to a report by All Kpop, a few months ago, Hwasa appeared on the KBS cool FM radio program Lee Eun Ji’s Gayo Plaza and shared how she relieves her tension. “I listen to upbeat music, or for my own secret method, I watch a concert clip from Beyoncé’s ‘Homecoming’. That clip is like my personal fuel,” said the K-pop idol. Further, when asked about her comeback, she revealed her upcoming music plans by saying, “I am working hard on my comeback. But the fans are crying because I originally told them that it would be in mid-July, but with the Paris Olympics coming up, it will be pushed back until late August.”
Hwasa’s upcoming second mini-album, O, comes after a gap of four years since she released her debut mini-album, Maria, in June 2020, which made her the first Korean soloist to achieve number one on the US iTunes Album chart. O will also be Hwasa’s second music release since she joined her new agency, P Nation, which was founded by PSY. Her first music venture with the agency was her single, I Love My Body, which was released in September 2023. The song was reportedly her response to the public indecency controversy after the Student Parent’s Rights Protection Union in South Korea filed a complaint against her in 2023.
