This has been revealed in a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.

A study has revealed the type and amount of caffeine people need to decrease the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke. This has been revealed in a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. The study claims that consuming 3 cups of coffee can reduce the chances of developing risk conditions including diabetes and heart disease by almost 50 per cent. Chaofu Ke, the study’s lead author from Suzhou Medical College in China talked more about it. Ke said,” “Drinking three cups of coffee or 200-300 mg of caffeine per day may help lower the risk of developing cardiometabolic diseases in those who are currently healthy.” Cardiometabolic diseases are a group of common but often preventable conditions including heart attack, stroke and diabetes. These also comprise health ailments, i.e., – insulin resistance and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Benefits of consuming coffee

1. Moderate coffee consumption of 3 to 4 cups per day is said to give the person many health benefits. These health benefits can be due to its rich antioxidant content including polyphenols and essential nutrients such as magnesium & potassium.

2. Drinking coffee improves brain function. Studies have also shown that it leads to a boost in memory.

3. The caffeine in coffee stimulates the central nervous system to improve mood levels and reduce the likelihood of depression.

4. Coffee can also help mitigate the danger of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Alzheimer’s disease causes the brain to shrink and brain cells to eventually die. Parkinson’s disease is a condition where a part of your brain deteriorates, causing more severe symptoms over time.

Apart from this study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, many studies have shown a link between coffee consumption and reduced risks of many chronic health ailments. Antioxidants in coffee help keep the heart healthy and reduce the chances of heart disease like stroke. Some researchers also suggest that moderate coffee drinkers regularly have a slightly lower risk of certain cancers, including liver and colon cancers.

On the flip side, excessive coffee leads to dangerous effects like increased anxiety, sleep disorders and increased heart rate.
