Allergic March To Wheezing, 4 Symptoms Of Pediatric Asthma
Childhood asthma can lead to irritating daily symptoms that interfere with the daily activities of children including, sports, school, sleep etc.

In Pediatric asthma or childhood asthma, the lungs and airways become easily inflamed when exposed to certain triggers. Such causes include inhaling pollen, catching a cold or other respiratory infection. Childhood asthma can lead to irritating daily symptoms that interfere with the daily activities of children including, sports, school, sleep, etc. In some children, unmanaged asthma can cause dangerous asthma attacks. These are some of the initial symptoms of the Pediatric Asthma amongst the children that should be controlled as soon as possible-

1. Allergic March- The allergic march is also called the atopic march. About 50 per cent of children with eczema develop asthma. This allergic march manifests as itchy, red patches on the skin and also, appears on the face, scalp and in the creases of the elbows and knees.

2. Gastrointestinal Allergies- When allergic to childhood asthma, some children often experience gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhoea (when your stools are loose and watery) and abdominal pain.

3. Hay fever- It is the common name for allergic rhinitis. Hay fever describes a reaction that occurs when your nose or eyes come in contact with allergens, which are substances to which you are sensitive. This condition can also point out the increasing advances of childhood asthma.

4. Wheezing- Wheezing is another common sign of childhood asthma. It is often accompanied by recurrent dry or productive cough. Other signs depend on the aetiology 9set of causes) and may include fever, runny nose (viral infection), and feeding difficulties (e.g., due to heart failure or dysphagia).

Other Asthma symptoms:

  • Chest tightness and shortness of breath. This condition is known as Dyspnea and is accompanied by a cough, dry or productive (with phlegm).
  • Some children also suffer from coughs and colds that are severe enough to cause vomiting.

Not every child with allergies develops asthma. However, if your child exhibits a combination of these signs, it is important to consult a doctor.

To take care of the children suffering from this problem, parents should ensure that the child remains hydrated. Dehydration can make asthma symptoms worse. So, encourage children to drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially during outdoor activities.
