Disha Patani Turns Showstopper For Manav Gangwani At ICW 2017 Day 2
Actress Disha Patani upped the glamour quotient in an all-black Manav Gangwani ensemble as the star turned showstopper on Day 2 of India Couture Week 2017.

Actress Disha Patani stunned in an all-black Manav Gangwani ensemble as she turned showstopper for the designer on Day 2 of the prestigious FDCI India Couture Week (ICW) 2017 which was held at The Lodhi in New Delhi.

Designer Manav Gangwani's collection India @ 70, which featured only women's wear, was a perfect amalgamation of the rich heritage of India with modern edgy elements.

"It wasn't easy to put together all of it (the collection). It wasn't easy putting Kathakali with a Kashmiri jamawaar, bandhani and benarasi brocade, but it just came through," said designer Manav Gangwani in an exclusive chat with News18.com soon after his show.

The designer's amazing collection left the audiences awestruck. And while several models sashayed down the runway presenting the stunning ensembles, it was actress Disha Patani who stole the show. The MS Dhoni star looked ethereal in the Indian attire as she walked down the ramp with a lot of ease and confidence, wearing a beautiful smile on her face.

While the actress's velvet lehenga was embellished with intricate embroidery work depicting elephants, deers and all things that are representative of India, the blouse featured a lot of fringes. Disha rounded up her look with minimal makeup and no accessories expect for a maangtika which accentuated her look.

"He (Manav Gangwani) is so amazing. It's such a unique idea to collaborate India and fashion," the actress added.

Elaborating on her thoughts about the collection Disha said at the event, "As you can see he (Manav Gangwani) has collaborated Indian style with the western style. So, it's not exactly ethnic but there's also a touch of western in it."

The actress acknowledged the fact that while she is often seen flaunting sporty looks, this was a different side of her which was 'more girly, pretty and Indian'.

Talking about her style icon, the actress told the media, "I love Priyanka (Chopra). She is my love. I love everything about her, the way she talks, walks, whatever she wears, I think for me she is my idol."

The show was a starry affair with the likes of actor Zahid Khan, designer Varun Bahl among others in attendance.

FDCI India Couture Week 2017, which is celebrating it's 10th edition this year, will be held from 24th-30th July in the capital.
