Let’s take a look at the three asanas Malaika suggested to awaken the warrior and their benefits.

Adho Mukha Svanasana

Also known as Downward-facing Dog Pose, Adho Mukha Svanasana, is equal parts strengthening and stretching the body. This asana not just brings balance to the body but is also a way to increase flexibility. It helps in opening up the muscles and gives the body a good stretch. To perform Adho Mukha Svanasana follow these steps:

  • Start by standing half on your knees. Bend in front with your palm straight on the floor.
  • Now, pull your back straight with elbows, back and thighs straight like a table.
  • Now, start pulling your hips upwards making a mountain with the body.
  • Hold the position.

Virabhadrasana II

To wake up the warrior, you need to perform the warrior pose. This asana is proven to enhance the strength and stamina in people. It also improves posture and opens up the arms and legs. The asana brings stability and balance. Follow these steps to perform the warrior pose.

  • Stand straight with legs wide open.
  • Now, stretch your arms to the sides straight.
  • Then, look to your right and tilt your upper body to the same direction.
  • Now, stand bending your right knee and hold the position.

Balasana

Child pose or Balasana is a resting pose that makes the body remind of inaction. As action is required, moments of doing nothing are also equally important. This asana challenges a person emotionally and physically. Supporting the head on the floor helps in relieving headache. It also releases stress and fatigue. Do the asana by following these steps.

  • Sit on your knees. Bend forward, pressing your body to the floor.
  • Stretch arms in front of your head.
