Jasprit Bumrah heaped praise on his bowling partner Mohammed Shami and called him a legend of the game. Shami has been in incredible form in the ongoing ODI World Cup, he got the opportunities in the last two matches in which he claimed a total of 9 wickets. The 33-year-old missed out on the playing XI in the first four matches but an unfortunate injury to Hardik Pandya made way for him to get a place in the XI against New Zealand.
He produced an incredible performance with a fifer in Dharamsala and then followed it with a four-fer on Sunday against defending champions England.
Bumrah, who is the leader of the Indian pace attack, talked highly of Shami and asserted he bowled incredibly well and seemed like he was bowling in a Test match.

“He is outstanding,” Bumrah said. “He’s, you know, one of the legends of the game. I feel he has always been quite calm. He doesn’t come out to be flamboyant, but he way he was bowling as if he was playing a Test match and [it] was really, really wonderful to see,” Bumrah told Sky Sports.
The 29-year-old said that he is happy with the way Shami has bowled in the last two matches and he enjoyed bowling with him in partnership.
“Usually we’ve had a lot of partnerships in Test-match cricket and I really enjoy bowling with him. So yeah, I’m really happy with the way he’s going on,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bumrah made a comeback to the Indian team before the World Cup on Ireland tour. The premier pacer has been in sensational form and picked the rhythm instantly after making the comeback. In the ongoing World Cup, Bumrah has picked 14 wickets in 6 matches thus far.
Talking about his comeback from the injury, Bumrah said he was in great headspace during the rehabilitation phase.
“I’m very happy,” he continued. “I came back and I realised how much I love playing the game. I was not chasing anything. Great headspace was there when I came back from the injury. So yeah, eventually I’m looking at the positives and trying to enjoy as much as you can,” he concluded.
