Aishwarya Rai allegedly ‘looked through’ Rushad Rana when they were filming for Mohabbatein. The Aditya Chopra film, which released in 2000, featured Rushad Rana as one of the students of Shah Rukh Khan’s class in Gurukul. In a recent interview, Rushad opened up about working on the sets with stallwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh and Aishwarya. While he praised Shah Rukh, adding that when they reunited in Veer Zaara, he remembered him, Rushad said that Aishwarya seemingly ignored him.
“I didn’t have any interaction with Aishwarya. She chose to look right through us. Preity Zinta did the same during Veer Zaara. That’s okay; what can you do? You can’t exactly say ‘Hi’ to those who choose to ignore you,” Rushad told Siddharth Kannan.
He also spoke about Shah Rukh and Rani Mukerji. The actor added, “I was first surprised when Shah Rukh Khan remembered me from Mohabbatein, and then pleasantly shocked when Rani Mukerji told me her mom is a big fan of my work. At that time, I was doing a show called Kehta Hai Dil. It was a popular and hit show, and Rani’s mom used to watch it regularly, with Rani often joining her. She told me, ‘I admire you TV guys. How do you manage to say dialogues after dialogues?’ I remember that interaction vividly, and throughout the shoot, she was very warm.”
Rushad Khan has done his share of Bollywood films. He made his big screen debut with Mohabbatein and seen in films such as Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, 8 x 10 Tasveer, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi and more recently, Ulajh. However, he is best known for his work on the small screen. He was seen in projects such as Hip Hip Hurray, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Sasural Simar Ka, Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara, Kumkum Bhagya, and Anupamaa.
