Telugu star Anjali shared her first social media post since Nandamuri Balakrishna pushed her at the Gangs of Godavari event. Taking to X, Anjali shared a collage of videos from the controversial event which featured many moments, including Balakrishna pushing her. While sharing the video, Anjali thanked Balakrishna for attending the event and seemingly brushed off the controversial incident by saying that they share a ‘great friendship’.
“I want to thank Balakrishna Garu for gracing the Gangs of Godavari pre-release event with his presence. I would like to express that Balakrishna garu and I have always maintained mutual respect for each other and We share a great friendship from a long time. It was wonderful to share the stage with him again,” she said.

The post did not go down well with social media users. Many called the post ‘damage control.’ “Too late to defend him now,” a social media user told her. “Too late to tweet this now!” added another. “Feels like a lie dear,” a comment read. “Forced tweet! that’s okay it’s ur choice!! But deep down inside uk what happened !” another user said.
The Gangs of Godavari makers also defended Balakrishna. Vishwak Sen, who is in Gangs of Godavari, said, “He (Balakrishna) is such a good man, he will take something serious also jovially. We also need to understand what needs to be taken seriously and what need not.”
Vishwak noted, “Everyone is reacting only to a portion of the video; no one saw what happened after (he shoved Anjali).” He seemingly suggested that it was okay to pass it off as yet another incident since Anjali laughed it off.
Producer Naga Vamsi also defended the actor-politician. “Suppose there are three people, suppose I ask you to move and you don’t, so I casually push you. That’s all that happened there. This is happening because people have planned to turn it into a controversy.” He added, “They high-fived each other after, why is no one talking about that.”
