Her decision also came in view of her husband’s unconventional work hours with Rapido. The challenging situation led her to venture into the food cart business she began in Delhi’s Sainik Vihar.

Within no time, her simple food cart became a hotspot for residents as people relished the delectable vada pav she served. FYI, Vada Pao is a Mumbai snack with spicy potato filling encased in a bread roll.

However, Chandrika Dixit came into the limelight after a video of her serving street food was posted by the food vlogger Amit Jindal. The clip captured her skilful preparation of vada pavs, capturing the attention of foodies. Overnight, Dixit became a social media sensation, thanks to the power of social media.

Despite all the popularity and hard work, Chandrika Dixit has been embroiled in controversy. A video surfaced on the Internet earlier this year in March, showcasing the Vada Pao girl in tears. Alleging harassment from Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) officials, Dixit claimed that they demanded bribes despite already paying the requisite fees of around Rs 35,000.

Moreover, her growing popularity due to her collaboration with content creators and food vloggers further amplified her fame. Notably, she served Vada Pav to celebrities like Tehelka Bhai aka Sunny Arya, Puneet Superstar and even Dolly Chaiwala. This also led to clashes with other street vendors.

Despite these hurdles, Chandrika Dixit remained focused on her goal and it paid off. She was seen in a Ford Mustang, a luxury car worth over Rs 76 lakh in India. In a viral video, the Internet sensation was seen coming out of the car’s trunk with a plate of pav, hinting at ‘something big’.
