BTS's Jin Refuses To Go Shirtless Saying 'I Am Conservative', Fans Are Confused

Having been discharged from his military duty last month, BTS member Kim Seok-jin, aka Jin, is completely using his time to fulfill work commitments, meet with fans and also give out interviews. In one of his latest interactions, the K-pop sensation spoke about his hesitancy to go shirtless, contradicting something that almost all the BTS members are doing these days. In the video interview shared by W Korea, Jin was asked to go shirtless; however, he refused to do so, stating that he is “conservative.”

“Don’t wear a shirt underneath? That is…I’m a bit of a conservative person. I am not so confident about my body,” he explains.

While the seniormost BTS member clarified his stance, fans were divided over his remarks. Many found it ironic that Jin was technically the first member to post a shirtless picture on Instagram, while others supported him for speaking up for himself.

A fan wrote, “Good for you, Jin. You’re still WWH even with your shirt on. When the time comes & if it’ll ever come that you want your shirt off for photoshoots, it hopefully will be your decision made way before the day of the photoshoot & not a last minute suggestion by somebody else in the room. Just like your selca. You took one shirtless & posted it yourself.”

Another commented, “I’m proud of Jin for sticking to his guns (so to speak) and not being coerced into something he’s uncomfortable with.”

A fan shared Jin’s old shirtless picture and wrote, “Such a tease.. talking like he didn’t create chaos back then.”

Another fan remarked, “He’s being modest as if he wasn’t the first one to shake boraland with his “7 tattoo reveal” which we are still recovering from btw.”

Jin’s remarks come at a time when Kim Taehyung, aka V, had earlier asserted that BTS’s Chapter 2 has nothing to do with them going shirtless. On Suga’s show, Suchwita, he said, “I saw that there are ARMY who think Chapter 2 is about us taking our shirts off. But I repeat, Chapter 2 has nothing to do with taking our shirts off.”

For those unaware, Chapter 2 focuses on the band members’ individual releases through an eclectic range of solo songs. At that time as well, ARMYs couldn’t help but point out how ‘unserious’ it was, as almost everyone, including Jungkook, Jimin, J-Hope, RM, Jin and even V went shirtless for different reasons.
