Call Me Bae: Ananya Panday Promotes Debut Series At Mumbai Metro
Helmed by Collin D’Cunha, Call Me Bae stars Ananya Panday, Vir Das, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat and Gurfateh Pirzada.

Ananya Panday is busy promoting her upcoming web series Call Me Bae, which is set to stream on the OTT giant Amazon Prime Video soon. Directed by Collin D’Cunha, the show follows the life of Bella (played by Ananya), finding herself and navigating her work and love life in the city of dreams after she loses all the generational wealth. The actress has now been leaving no stone unturned to promote her debut series.

On Wednesday, the Gehraiyaan actress was spotted promoting Call Me Bae at a Mumbai Metro station along with her co-stars Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra and Muskkaan Jaferi. Several pictures and videos of the cast members from the station have surfaced on social media.

In one such video, Ananya could be seen standing on the metro escalator with the other cast and team members standing behind her. Talking about her look, the Pati Patni Aur Woh actress looked drop-dead gorgeous in a denim sleeveless crop top that she paired with matching jeans with tassels.

Besides her, the series also stars Vir Das, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat and Gurfateh Pirzada in lead roles. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video from September 6.

The series has been jointly backed by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

During the show’s trailer launch, Ananya said, “It’s (The series) an amalgamation of all these chick-flick kind of movies that I loved growing up. And then there was obviously Poo (Kareena Kapoor’s character in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham), who was iconic. I dressed up as Poo two years ago. I have all of her quotations on my mirror and everything, so she’s definitely left an impression on me.”

“It’s like a mix of Schitt’s Creek, Clueless, Aisha and Nancy Drew. I don’t think we’re really getting to watch (such films and series) right now. It’s the kind of show that I enjoy watching. It’s very light, young adult, happy and fun. Even though Bae has a bit of all these characters (in her), she is fully her own person,” she added.

Talking about her other projects, she will also be seen in director Vikramaditya Motwane’s next cyber-thriller CTRL which will stream on the OTT platform Netflix on October 4.
