Darshan Fan Murder Case: Police Slaps 8 More Charges; Accuses Actor of Using Deadly Weapon, Kidnap
The latest update on the Darshan Fan Murder Case revealed the Police has added eight more charges against Darshan and others accused in the case.

The Darshan fan murder case took a new turn on Thursday, June 20. The latest update has revealed the Police investigating the death of Renukaswamy, Kannada actor Darshan’s fan who was murdered, has slapped Darshan with eight new charges. It is reported that Kannada star has been charged of kidnap and extortion, among other charges.

The Police revealed Darshan has been booked under IPC 364, 384, 355,148,120(B), 143 and 147, 148 for kidnapping, extortion, use of criminal force, using deadly weapon, criminal conspiracy, Unlawful assembly, rioting and rioting with deadly weapon. Darshan has been in Police custody since June 11.

As per an India Today report, Darshan’s police custody comes to an end today and Darshan along with the 17 other accused will be presented in court. If the court orders for judicial custody, it is reported that Darshan, his friend Pavithra Gowda and others accused will be lodged in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru.

About Darshan Fan Murder Case:

Darshan, his close friend Pavithra Gowda, and 13 of his associates have been arrested for the murder of Renuka Swamy, am auto driver. His body was found near a stormwater drain with multiple injury marks on June 9.

According to the reports, Darshan, popularly known as “Challenging Star”, was furious with Swamy after he sent obscene messages and images to the 33-year-old Gowda. According to a report by NDTV, the autopsy report found 15 wounds on his body including marks on the head, abdomen, chest and other parts. As per the report, Swamy’s head rammed a mini truck which was parked in a shed in Bengaluru and has now been seized by the police.

Earlier, the Karnataka police officials claimed that Darshan and his aides had beaten Swamy with sticks and then allegedly thrown him against the wall. This led to his death. Swamy, an employee at the Apollo Pharmacy Branch, was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 8.
