Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan, celebrated for his remarkable performances in Hindi films like Khoobsurat and Kapoor & Sons, is poised to return to Bollywood after an eight-year break. Following the 2016 Uri attacks, Fawad paused his Indian cinema career due to the ensuing border closures but is now making a comeback, as per reports. It was earlier said that he is all set to star in a film with Vaani Kapoor. The actor has finally broken his silence about his comeback.
When asked about the reported Bollywood comeback, Fawad Khan told Something Haute, “Oh my god, I don’t know about a Bollywood comeback but main yeh zaroor kahoonga ki there is stuff that is going to come out. There will be stuff that will go into production… Aayega, aayega, aayega.”
Fawad Khan was prodded a little further and the actor revealed that he has three projects in the pipeline, all films. He said, “We’re doing some things and not one but two things are coming. One is probably going on floors next year, fingers crossed. Then there are other things as well. I’m saying waqt batayega aur bohot jald batayega.” However, Fawad did not mention which of these projects will be made in Bollywood and which ones in Pakistani cinema.
For the unversed, a recent Filmfare report stated, “Fawad has been cast with Vaani Kapoor in a film that’s about to go into production soon.” The source also revealed that the shoot of the untitled project will kick-start in London soon. The pre-production of the project is currently underway and the other details have been kept under wraps, the source mentioned.
There is also buzz in Pakistani entertainment circles suggesting that Fawad has been roped in for a cameo in Kartik Aaryan’s highly anticipated comedy horror movie, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee. Although an official announcement from the makers is still pending, the rumours of Fawad Khan’s potential cameo in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are generating buzz among fans. Produced by T-Series Films and Cine1 Studios, the movie is scheduled for a Diwali 2024 release.
Meanwhile, Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed have reunited for Barzakh. The duo are sharing the screen for the first time in 12 years since their blockbuster show Zindagi Gulzar Hai. The intriguing storyline follows a reclusive resort owner who brings his estranged children together for his third wedding, only for them to discover that his would-be bride is believed to have passed away long ago. This unexpected reunion compels the family to confront their inner demons and unresolved issues.
