Directed by Fede Álvarez, 20th Century Studios has released a new trailer for Alien: Romulus, a standalone film that hits theatres in August.

The latest entry in the Alien franchise, the brand-new trailer for Romulus, has been released, taking the film back to its roots! 20th Century Studios dropped the trailer for Alien: Romulus, a standalone project from Fede Álvarez, known for films like Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe. The trailer looks exceptionally well-crafted, trying to live up to high franchise expectations. Looking as scary as possible, viewers can witness the characters becoming targets of the deadly Xenomorph, further delving into the hunt by the killer aliens.

Alien: Romulus Trailer Confirms The Return Of Xenomorphs

In the trailer, the dangerous face-huggers, the parasitoid form of the species Xenomorph, stand out as the main antagonists of the film. As it begins, Cailee Spaeny’s character wakes up from sleep, going forward to explore a distant space station. With the constant sombre music and suspenseful thumping sound, the terrifying visual of the Xenomorph claiming its first victim arises.

After showing an ample amount of alien chases, a text on the screen reads, “In Space No One Can Hear You," before cutting to visuals of silent screams. Amid the crew’s struggle for survival, the thrill builds around Xenomorphs lurking in the dark, targetting the members, and even coming face-to-face with Isabela Merced’s character.

According to the film’s synopsis, Alien: Romulus will focus on a group of

young space colonisers who went scavenging into the deep ends of an abandoned space station, only to come across the “most terrifying life form" in the universe. Notably, the trailer was released just a day after the makers shared a poster for the sci-fi film, prominently featuring the face-hugger.
