The FTII will facilitate the noted teachers during the National Students Film Awards and Student Film Festival of India.

Pune: In a thrust to express gratitude towards the teachers who framed the careers of many students, the Film and Television Institute of India will facilitate Roshan Taneja and KPR Nair during the forthcoming National Students Film Awards and Student Film Festival India scheduled from February 24-28.

As it is a well known fact, Roshan Taneja has been one of the favourite teachers of acting students throughout the '60s and '70s. He has honed the skills and expertise of actors such as Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azami, Naseerudin Shah, Om Puri, Shatrughan Sinha, Mithun Chakravarty, Danny Dengzopa, Rehana Sultana and a number of others who were then the Acting Course students. These artistes have created a galaxy of actors who impressed the audience with their versatility in India and abroad.

KPR Nair has identified the talents and creativity of cinematography course students like Kiran Deohans, Santosh Sivan, Anil Mehta, Sunny Joseph, Raffey Mehmod, Vikas Sivaraman, Dharam Gulati, Piyush Shah amongst others. These cinematographers have achieved visual excellence in a number of films such as 'Aks', 'Roja', 'Dil Se', 'Lagaan', 'Sarfarosh', 'Tingya' and 'Shadow Kill' among others.
