Footage marks the return of Vishak Nair, known for his role in Anandam, to the Malayalam film industry after a series of smaller releases. Alongside his Malayalam ventures, he is also making waves in Bollywood, with an upcoming release titled Emergency, featuring Kangana Ranaut.

Earlier, an intriguing poster featuring the lead cast was shared by actress Manju Warrier, who captioned it, “FOOTAGE CAN TELL WHAT WORDS CAN’T… Excited to introduce to you my next! Footage – the directorial debut of the very talented Saiju Sreedharan.” For those unfamiliar, the film is poised to introduce the found-footage style of narration in Malayalam cinema. Starring Manju Warrier, Vishakh Nair, Gayathri Ashok, Nanjiamma, and others, the film is helmed by director Saiju, who is also editing it. Additionally, the music for Footage will be composed by the popular musician Sushin Shyam.

In addition to Footage, Vishak Nair has another project in the works, namely the Tamil-Malayalam bilingual survival thriller Exit, directed by debutant Shaheen. The film follows the story of four young men trapped in a bungalow in a hilly village during the 90s. Vishak Nair portrays a character with cannibalistic traits, who has been chained in the abandoned bungalow for over 25 years under mysterious circumstances. His previous appearance was in A M Sidhique’s campus drama LLB – Life Line of Bachelors, where he starred alongside Sreenath Bhasi and Aswath Lal in lead roles.
